🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Express Anger Over Size Updates Shoppers are voicing their frustration following a change that caused items being listed as the wrong size. This online marketplace has revised its size classifications for female and kids' apparel without notifying all users about the change. Online Platforms Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online stating that platform listings now display a different size category versus the original listing due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces. They have suggested members to check their listings and manually change the size when needed, which has left users frustrated. Size Classification Modifications Before the change, the sizes had both one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Stories Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. A different member, located in Scotland, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she stated. Required Changes A different user, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she stated. Service Background The service features exceeding 100 million members, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: last year, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
